Project Alpha

Noblelift will release the Alpha-50v1.0 lithium forklift, the world’s first open-source forklift, on July 1st, 2025, to accelerate the global shift to clean electric power in material handling. As a leading global manufacturer, Noblelift is spearheading this effort because addressing climate change is the challenge of our time, and we all must take responsibility to do our part.

What is the goal of the project?

There are currently over 10 million internal combustion forklifts in operation worldwide, with approximately 1 million new units being purchased each year. To help transition these users to clean electric power across the globe, we need your help. Join our project’s open-source community or become a distributor of the Alpha-50v1.0 and help us change the world.
Who knows… maybe more industries will follow based on the example we set and put collaboration ahead of competition in the service of their customers and our planet.

Key Alpha-50v1.0 project details:

  • Open-Source Design Community: Fosters innovation and lowers long-term maintenance costs through community collaboration.
  • Retrofitting Option: Extends the life of existing equipment, minimizing waste and maximizing investment by allowing for the conversion of fuel-based models to electric.
  • LFP Battery Chemistry: Ensures safer, longer-lasting operation and reduces reliance on scarce resources such as cobalt and nickel.
  • Simplified Charging: Utilizes small, simple chargers, reducing the need for significant infrastructure upgrades.
  • Common Component Sourcing: Shares components with major fuel-based supply chains to achieve significant cost efficiencies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Updated versions of the Alpha-50 will be made available annually to continuously drive down operating cost, assist users in the transition from internal combustion, and promote sustainability based on the input of our community and feedback from the market.

Pricing and Availability:

  • The Alpha-50v1.0 will be initially offered in North America at an MSRP of $29,000 USD.
  • Subsidized units are available to university and engineering programs participating in our open course community at $19,900 USD plus delivery.
